Vincenzo Spinelli founded his company almost fifty years ago. But the love for the vines and the land of Abruzzo have never changed. An ancient passion inspired Vincenzo Spinelli a half century ago to take up the challenge: ``If we are making good wine for ourselves, why not do it for everyone?``
A family company, deeply rooted in the land of Abruzzo and handed down over generations, still farmers at heart: everything else changes, grows, evolves over time, but the heart of the family is the same, the authentic way that they experience their work and life. The flag bearers of this tradition today are Carlo and Adriano Spinelli, the sons of the founder, Vincenzo.

The Atessa Municipality, situated on the southern edge of Abruzzo, is where they have been making wine for centuries. It is an area nestled between the Frentane hills and the Sangro River, which has always been dedicated to cultivating grapes, one of the most important cultivations in Italy thanks to exceptional terrior: a clay-limestone mixture and unique micro-climate, the result of its vicinity to the sea on one side and the peaks of Maiella on the other. It is also a land of shepherds, crossed over thousands of years by the transhumance, over the hills, winding through the vineyards and also leaving its mark in the names of the wines, like Pecorino.

Pecorino
Its name is immediately reminiscent of the land of Abruzzo, with its long, centuries old transhumance bridleways that wind through the vineyards. Pecorino is believed to belong to the ancient Trebbiani grape family, but it is still a local variety, typical of the Adriatic regions of Central Italy in proximity of the sea. Abruzzo provides the perfect climatic and soil conditions for its cultivation. With a straw yellow color and golden highlights, intense aroma with floral, fruity and spicey notes, it has medium acidity, is slightly bitter, and well-structured. It is a distinct typical wine.
