Pion “le meilleur du vin” represents more than 300 family estates. Oliver and Christian Pion decided after sixty years of distributing wines for others, to become winemakers themselves. In doing so, they wish to transmit their family values through the production of an eponym range of fine Burgundy wines.
In 2016 they introduced this delicious Pinot Noir from two distinct terroir. One is higher, at around 300m above sea level, the other is more maritime and windy. This combination of two terroirs means it is classified as a Vin de France appellation, even if the areas are close. The earth is carefully worked in each plot, with vines between 20 - 40 years old. Maceration is kept short, at around one week, to respect the fruit, and the wine is then aged in stainless steel.
