Unquestionably Italy’s most famous appellation and sadly suffered some of the most traumatic damage in September 2002. La Morra and Barolo itself was at the centre of the storms, almost the entire Marcarini 2002 harvest was wiped out. Manuel Marchtti has in the light of this held back some of the 1999, 2000 and 2001 vintages.
